About Me
My name is Frances Campbell and I come from Somerset. I have been
creating mosaic art for around 12-13 years. It started as a hobby but I
became more involved as my skill improved. I am a member of the Cam Valley Artists www.camvalleyartstrail.co.uk and I am going to be taking part in this years Arts Trail.
For a number of years I have been running weekly workshop courses in the art of Mosaics, at Frome Community Education, which has proved to be very popular. I find it most rewarding to teach and pass on my skills introducing others to this great craft, which gives them new talent and to achieve wider appreciation of the creative skill of producing a piece of art from mosaic tiles.
I have been a member of BAMM (British Association of Modern Mosaics Artists), and have shown my work in various exhibitions.
I exhibited my work at Opus Mosaic's in a number of their exhibitions over the last 4 years. One being "International Year of the Forest" (May 2011), where I had three pieces on display.
I exhibited at BAMM’s “Say it with Flowers" in London (4th - 30th of March 2012) and at Opus
Mosaic's "Ebb and Flow" in Exeter. (May 2012). The most recent Opus Mosaic Birdsong and Blossom (May 2013).
I have been taking commissions for many years now and it gives me great pleasure to do so. I am able to create an extensive range of styles and effects to suit the needs and requirements of my customers.
Indoor, Outdoor, Mirrors, Coasters, Tables, Walls, Glass and Pottery are just some of the things I have done, yet I am always looking to expand my methods and styles.
I have taken commissions from private individuals, as well as schools in the local area.
If mosaics aren’t enough, I also create stained glass windows panels on commission. I am able to combine both techniques to create beautiful transparent mosaics patterns in many designs.
If you have with any queries or want to know more about what can I create, for you, or perhaps a unique gift for a special occasion I would be delighted to hear from you. Please feel free to drop me an e-mail via my Contact Me page.
